Everything you need to know about swimming activities at the Real Club de Tenis de San Sebastián.
1. What kind of swimming activities does the Club offer?
We offer a wide variety of options: swimming school for children and adults, individual or small group personal training, intensive summer courses (UDA Campaign), and our exclusive Open Water Swimming Club.
2. Do I need to be a member of RCTSS to sign up?
No, all our water activities are open to both members and non-members. However, club members enjoy reduced rates and priority registration periods.
3. What are the class levels?
We cover absolutely every level. Whether you want to learn to swim from scratch, improve your technique, prepare for a competition, or specific exams, we adapt the program to you. For children, we start swimming classes at 6 months old.
4. Who teaches the training sessions?
Our team is made up of professional instructors and experts in aquatic activities who guarantee a safe, motivating environment oriented towards achieving your goals.
5. What facilities do I have at my disposal?
As a student of our swimming classes, you will have access to changing rooms with showers and locker space within the Club's facilities.
6. Can I swim or train freely?
Of course. Our pool area has two basins. A relaxation basin at 32ºC for specific exercises or rehabilitation, and another basin for training or lap swimming. The training basin offers members the possibility to swim individually in designated lanes. Through the app, you can book your lane for periods of 30, 45 minutes, or 1 hour. You will swim alone!
7. How long are the private swimming training sessions?
Personal training sessions in the pool have a duration of 30 minutes per class.
8. What is the minimum age to sign up for courses?
The minimum age for personal training is 5 years old. For younger ages, we have specific programs such as baby swimming (from 6 to 36 months).
9. Can I share my personal training session with other people?
Yes! We offer the possibility of organizing private classes for small groups of up to 4 people. It's an ideal option to progress alongside friends, colleagues, or family members.
10. Is the training material included?
Yes, the club provides all technical material and necessary exercise equipment during the session, in addition to the instructions from our coaches.
11. What times are available?
Training is offered from Monday to Saturday during a wide range of hours, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, subject to instructor and lane availability.
12. Are there packs or discounts?
Yes, we have vouchers for 5, 10, or 20 personal training sessions, which provides an economic advantage compared to booking single classes.
13. What does the Open Water Club consist of?
It is an activity that combines training in the Club's pool and swimming outings to the sea (La Concha Bay - Ondarreta). Designed for those who enjoy the sea and want to prepare for competitions or improve endurance.
14. How many days a week can I train?
The program is flexible: you can choose to sign up for 1, 2, or up to 3 days a week, depending on your goals and availability.
15. What time of year does the open water activity take place?
The peak open water season begins in late April and extends through the summer until October, divided into different periods.
16. How can I book a private lesson?
You can book conveniently through our online platform, available 24/7. You just need to register your details and choose the available time that suits you best.
17. How far in advance should I book private swimming lessons?
Online bookings for private lessons close 3 days before the date. For example, if you want to book for Friday, the deadline is Tuesday.
18. What is the UDA Campaign and how long do the courses last?
The UDA Campaign is our intensive summer program. We offer weekly or bi-weekly group courses. Standard classes last 45 minutes and are taught in both Basque and Spanish.
19. What payment methods are accepted?
For single online bookings, payment is by card. For long-term registrations (Open Water Club or schools), you can choose between in-person payment (card or cash) or direct debit.
20. Are classes made up if they coincide with a holiday?
Generally, especially for summer courses, there are no classes on holidays and the calendar is already adapted to this circumstance. The course calendar will be available on the website.
