Frequently Asked Questions

How exactly long does a private tennis lesson in Donostia - San Sebastián last?
The standard and strict duration of all our private tennis lessons is 60 minutes. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to warm up off the court and maximize your training time.
From what age can private tennis lessons be taken?
Private tennis lessons are open to anyone over 6 years old. Our coaches adapt the methodology to all ages, from playful initiation for the little ones to technical improvement for adults.
What tennis or physical level is required to start private lessons?
We do not require any prior level. Since these are private lessons, the training is 100% tailored. Whether you have never held a racket or you are a competitive player looking to refine your strokes, we adapt to you.
How do you evaluate my level in my first tennis session?
If it's your first time at the Real Club de Tenis de San Sebastián, your coach will dedicate the first 5-10 minutes of the session to a diagnostic rally to evaluate your basic technique, mobility, and familiarity with the racket, designing the rest of the lesson based on what is observed.
Can I choose or request my favorite tennis coach?
Yes, it is possible to indicate your preference for a specific coach. However, the final assignment will depend on the requested professional's availability and the schedule of our tennis courts in Donostia - San Sebastián.
Are private lessons given on public holidays?
The availability of private lessons on public holidays will depend exclusively on the official opening calendar of the Real Club de Tenis de San Sebastián. We suggest you check in advance through our online booking system.
What must I bring on the day of the private tennis lesson?
We only ask that you come with comfortable sportswear that allows mobility on the court. Optionally, it is highly recommended to bring a small hand towel and, for the central hours of the day, apply sunscreen.
What kind of sports footwear is suitable for playing?
It is essential to wear sports shoes, preferably those with mixed soles or specific for clay courts. The use of casual shoes, cleats, or soles that could damage the surface of the club's tennis courts is prohibited.
Do I have to buy my own racket before the first lesson?
It is not mandatory. If you are in the beginner phase or do not have your own racket at the time, the coach will lend you one at no additional cost during your private lesson in Donostia - San Sebastián.
Are tennis balls also included in the service?
Of course. The club and our coaches will provide a full basket of high-quality tennis balls for the proper development of the training, whether you come alone or in a small group.
Is there access to locker rooms, lockers, and showers after the session?
Yes, by booking a private tennis lesson, you automatically acquire the right to use the Club's excellent facilities. This includes access to our equipped locker rooms, hot showers, and a secure space to leave your belongings.
What is the deadline to book my private tennis lesson online?
For logistical reasons regarding court and coach assignments, the online booking system strictly closes at 11:59 PM, 3 days before the scheduled date. We advise you to plan your training week in advance.
What happens if I give short notice that I cannot attend?
Cancellations requested less than 24 hours before the start of the tennis session will result in the loss of the right to a refund or rescheduling, and 100% of the fee will be charged for a "no show" or late cancellation.
Am I entitled to a refund if I cancel days in advance?
Yes. As long as the cancellation request is processed and you notify us more than 24 hours before the lesson, you can request a rescheduling or a refund without additional charges for your private lessons.
Can I book a tennis lesson for a friend or family member?
You can make the booking in the name of a third party without any problem. However, remember that the account holder who makes and pays for the booking will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the player complies with all the regulations and terms of the Real Club de Tenis de San Sebastián.
What policy applies if it rains heavily in Donostia - San Sebastián?
If weather conditions make it completely impossible to practice tennis safely on our courts (due to heavy rain or other severe weather), the Club will contact you to offer a rescheduling of the lesson or a full refund.
Are there different tennis prices depending on the time of year?
Yes. We have a pricing structure for private tennis lessons divided into Low Season (October to May) and High Season (June to September). We recommend checking the rate card to see the exact prices.
Does the cost per person decrease if we take the lesson in a group?
Exactly. Our system is designed to encourage sports with company. The individual rate progressively decreases if you decide to book a private tennis lesson as a duo (2 people) or by creating your own private group of 3 or up to 4 players.
Can I buy a pass or package of lessons in advance?
The purchase of Private Tennis Lesson Passes is an exclusive privilege reserved for Members of the Real Club de Tenis de San Sebastián. If you are not a member, payment will be made session by session on an individual basis.
If I am a member and buy a tennis pass, when does it expire?
Exclusive lesson passes for members are strictly personal and non-transferable and have a deadline for use at the Donostia - San Sebastián facilities on December 31st of the calendar year in which they were purchased.
